Are Deathknights to much trouble for world of warcraft?

First, we have looked around and found as much information as possible about the new deathknight class in the world of warrcraft.

Some of the basic information we have found, is that they are primarily a tanking class that can’t use a shield, but they do make up for this by having skills helps that help them hold agro and mitigate the damage.

One of the interesting things about the Deathknight class is that they are fulled by a rune system, which will be in place of the existing mana/rage/power bars. They appear they are going to be an offensive tank as their 3 skill tree’s all seem to have a big damage section in them.

10 Reasons to Make a Warlock

1. They never run out of mana. Being a warlock myself, this is my favorite feature of the class. Whether I solo, group, or raid; I never have to sit down after a fight and drink. Between life tap and dark pact, warlocks pretty much have infinite mana.

2. Warlocks are a pet class. To some people, this is a perk. It gets lonely always being by yourself if you’re a solo player; so having a pet is a nice friend! They are also useful to tank, DPS, or help with crowd control if you’re interested in more than companionship.

Battlegrounds - The Ultimate Thread

Warning: this thread contents personal opinions, self made strategy names, and a huge wall of text, approach with care - Also this thread meant as help for lvl 70’s primarily, where as you might be able to use this at lower lvls too, it is not directly meant as such.

Alright, I’m bored atm, and have been reading a few threads where people think they have got it all figured when it comes to BG’s.

First lets cover the tactics for each battleground shall we:

Alterac Valley Theres many ways to go about this, but since 95% of all the players here just follow the flow, theres 2 more common then the rest:

Strategy One: The Rush

This is the best one for both parties, as 2.4 balanced the map considerably. For the best chances of succes, a group of 3-5 people need to move on the first 2 central bunkers (I know its towers for the allies, but I’m sticking with bunkers), but wasting time going to Galva/Balinda. Getting the bunkers on timer ASAP is prioity one. Ofc rogues/druids are also needed to pass balinda and get to the base bunkers, and put this on timer. Besides this, defending the timered bunkers is also of the utter most importance, as if you lose control of it, the time will have to be started all over again, making you fall behind the opposite team. Remember, to kill the Leaders, one must first take out the bunkers, or as many as possible, so you dont have to deal with marshals (horde term again, pardon me) and extra hp on him.

In short: Get the bunkers on timer as fast as possible

World of Warcraft 2008 Warlock Guide

Warlocks in the world of Warcraft mainly deal in curses and summoning of Daemons. Warlocks use a different attack style from the other classes; they don’t go for the quick kills, but efficient ones. While warlocks have several different types of demons to summon, the mainly used class is the Warrior type, because it is an extremely good tank, and can take the damage while the warlock deals it out. Other daemons warlocks can summon are rouges and fire support (mini warlocks!). All the daemons warlocks can summon work differently, so choosing the right daemon for the right job is a must, Mostly when warlocks are going solo, they will use a tank based daemon, or a rouge based daemon with fear spells (for maximum damage).

Gear guide to get ready for Karazhan

“Am I ready for Karazhan?”

The question keeps popping so yet another gear guide, maybe it’ll help someone. I stuck to stuff that’s easily quested or crafted, without entering heroics and through minimal instancing.

This is a guide, I’m not providing a dozen options for every slot but tried to stick to best-in-slot blues. There may be better options for some slots but follow this and your gear will be fine to start Karazhan.

Head: Stalker’s Helmet of Second Sight http://www.wowhead.com/?item=31106 from a quest chain that starts here http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10642. Ignore the socket bonus and fill up with agility gems, enchant with the Glyph of Ferocity (requires Revered with Cenarion Expedition)

Neck: Natasha’s Choker http://www.wowhead.com/?item=31695 from a quest chain in Blade’s Edge Mountains that starts here http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10810

Shoulders: No good quest option here so Beast Lord Mantle http://www.wowhead.com/?item=27801 from Warlord Kalithresh, the end boss in The Steamvault. Gem with agility/hit in the yellow slot and agility in the red slot if you want the stamina bonus. Pretty much the best blue shoulders from PvE, if you like PvP go for the Gladiator Spaulders http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28333. Make sure you put an Inscription on them from your Aldor or Scryer rep.

Back: Delicate Green Poncho http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28032 from the Bring Me The Egg! quest in Nagrand http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10111 for a nice item for little effort. The hit rating will be invaluable when raiding. Enchant with +12 agility (Greater Agility, materials are 1 Greater Planar Essence, 4 Arcane Dust and 1 Primal Air)

Guide: Tankadin Pre-Kara gear

The question is often asked on this forum: Am i ready for karazhan? Answer: Only if you follow the below requirements.
Contents:
1: Advised Gear
2: Statistic Requirements

Here’s a list of what gear and statistics you need for starting karazhan as a main tank:
HELM:
Felsteel Helm. This is an excellent helm.http://www.wowdb.com/item.aspx?id=23519. I’d suggest socketing it with 2x Solid star of Elune and 1x Regal Tanzanite. Enchant: http://www.wowdb.com/item.aspx?id=29186
NECK:
There’s a variety of options. My favourite is the Mark of the Ravenguard from the Sethekk Halls quest. It gives great stamina and some defence. http://www.wowdb.com/item.aspx?id=29336
Another great one is from cenarion expedition reputation, http://www.wowdb.com/item.aspx?id=29173.
SHOULDERS:
The best here, by far, are Spaulders of the Righteous, http://www.wowdb.com/item.aspx?id=27739
get whatever tanking inscription you can from either Aldor or Scryer rep. Socket with Regal Tanzanite and Solid star of elune.

How to use BG Chat to Maximize Honour Outcome

Fact is that the BG chat is often not used efficiently. Many posts are related to discriminating inexperienced players which do not fulfil the expectation of so called “pro-gamers”. Many people show significant energy to contribute to the BG chat, however, there seems to be a general lack as to how to facilitate the BG chat to leverage gaming experience and to maximise honour outcome. The following guidelines can be used to overcome this issue:

(1) Respect your team mates.
(2) Give constructive instead of destructive feedback.
(3) Make pro-active suggestions instead of retrospective complaints.
(4) Use macros for the most important tactical commandos. This maximises the time you can actively participate in the main objectives of the game.
(5) Respond to your team-mates’ posts. By doing so, you are not only acknowledging the player, but you also raise the awareness of the rest of the players towards the bespoken issue.
(6) Request backups early. If a major confrontation is foreseeable, ask your team mates for help. Putting points (1) to (6) to practise can significantly improve the performance of individual players and increase the chances to win as a team. The overall outcome is both, a more satisfactory game-play as well as a more efficient honour generation for each player.

Any feedback / critique is welcome.

Where to level? Here to level!

Here’s a list with zones and level recommendations for Alliance and Horde players that I wrote for someone and thought I’d add it here aswell. (Adding the Horde zones at this time, although, the zones are pretty much the same for both factions..) If you would happen to find anything in this list that you’d like to change / add, please don’t be afraid of leaving a comment and I’ll see what I can do.Also note that this isn’t the level requirements. This is just the levels that I prefer to have reached before visiting the various zones.

Hint: For fastest leveling I suggest you take all the quests you see and then do most of them all at once. And to make it go even faster, I suggest you to download these three addons.

-Lightheaded (This will allow you to read the comments available for the selected quest at http://wowhead.com/ . You will be able to find the coords for whatever you need to do and if necessary, they might tell you how to complete it aswell. Click on the blue marked Coords in the comment to activate an arrow on your screen that will point you in the right direction.)

-Cartographer (This is a worldmap with more customisable options, like coords for example.)

-Bayi’s Extended Quest Log (This will make the quest window larger and make it possible for you to see pretty much all quests at once. So you don’t have to scroll up and down. It will also allow you to drag the quest tracker around on the screen, placing it wherever you want to.)

You can find all of those here:
http://files.wowace.com/
Except for Lightheaded that is available here: http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info7017-LightHeaded.html

(Note that the Bayi’s Extended Quest Log is called ‘beql’ here!)

How to install addons:
To install an addon, simply download the chosen addon you want. Extract the files to a folder on your desktop. Open your WoW Folder -> Interface -> AddOns. This is the map where your addons should be. If you can’t find the Interface or AddOn folder, you simply create one and put the addon in it. Now start up WoW and log in. At the character screen you will see a button in the lower left corner called “AddOns”. Click there and check if your addon is in the list. If there’s a text next to the addon saying “Out of date”, check the box in the upper right corner that says “Load out of date AddOns”.

Continue on with this guide here.

Shattered Sun Dailys guide

Kariel’s Shattered Sun Quests Guide

Hi all.
This is my guide to all the Shattered Sun dailys. Suggestions and corrections very welcome. Also I?m not going to cover the non-daily quests just yet but if anybody else wants to write that bit then please do!

HELPFUL INFO
There are two types of Shattered Sun dailys, those in outland and those on ?the Isle of Quel’Danas? in Azeroth. Most outland quests give Shattered Sun Supplies and just over 10g as a reward. The supplies always contain a random green item and sometimes (I estimate 1/10) also contain a badge of justice.

The island quests give differing rewards, some Aldor/Scryer rep items, some just gold. The ley-lines quests gives a scroll that transports you back to Shattrath. In order to get to the island, you can either talk to the flight master in Ironforge or Silvermoon city or, if your realm has it kept open, there is sometimes a portal to the island in the centre of Shattrath directly below the badges of justice vendor.

OUTLAND Shattered Sun dailys
(In the order I normally do them)

Gaining the Advantage
http://thottbot.com/q11875
Obtained from Emissary Mordin just up from the Alliance Warmasters in Shatt.
An easy quest if you have mining, herbalism or skinning. Basically using these skills you have a chance to get Nether Residue with your ore/herb/leather/whatever. I normally just take the quest and collect the residue as I do my normal herbing. I end up handing in every 2-3 days.
