First, we have looked around and found as much information as possible about the new deathknight class in the world of warrcraft.

Some of the basic information we have found, is that they are primarily a tanking class that can’t use a shield, but they do make up for this by having skills helps that help them hold agro and mitigate the damage.

One of the interesting things about the Deathknight class is that they are fulled by a rune system, which will be in place of the existing mana/rage/power bars. They appear they are going to be an offensive tank as their 3 skill tree’s all seem to have a big damage section in them.

The first Skill tree is “Blood” which is based around weapons armor and strikes. The second Skill tree is “Frost” which is based around crowd control and combos (damage again..) and the last skill tree is “unholy” which is attack spells and summons.

Three Official examples of skills are:-

* Blood Presence increases damage output by a percentage and restores a percentage of damage dealt as health.

* Frost Presence increases threat and lowers damage taken by a percentage.

* Unholy Presence increases attack speed and reduces the global cool down on death knight abilities.

So far so good, well it all goes does hill from here.

To use spells and abilities on the deathknight, you need to use “runes”, each rune as a cool down timer, so when you use it, you’ll have to wait until you can use your next one. Using runes will build up your Runic power bar, which is similar to a warriors rage bar, it also decreases over time when not used. There are some abilities that use this runic power bar, but when they do, they will consume all the power you have built up and damage will be based on that amount. There might be a serious issue unless they make the abilities based on the bar extremely powerful when fully powered.

Death knights will have some limited summoning ability, you can raise a corpse (even pc ones). but it’s apparently only for a short time. you can also raise a group of undead soldiers, but they are also only for a very short time. The best thing they can summon is the lvl 40 Deathcharger mount.

Now the worse bit of all, to Create a Death knight, you have to have an existing character OVER lvl 55, that’s not to bad right? well you can only have one death knight per realm (per account) and on pvp servers, they must be the same faction as your exsisting character. From what i can find, Deathknights will be capped at lvl 55, it was uncertain if that was on pvp only, or on all realms.

So there seems to be some huge cons about the death knight in the new expansion, only time will tell if they are as bad as they seem.

They never run out of mana. Being a warlock myself, this is my favorite feature of the class. Whether I solo, group, or raid; I never have to sit down after a fight and drink. Between life tap and dark pact, warlocks pretty much have infinite mana.

2. Warlocks are a pet class. To some people, this is a perk. It gets lonely always being by yourself if you’re a solo player; so having a pet is a nice friend! They are also useful to tank, DPS, or help with crowd control if you’re interested in more than companionship.

3. They are one of the best classes for solo play. Warlocks are by far one of the best classes for solo play. This includes leveling up, beating elite quests, and even having fun in old world content. I have done everything from solo’ing 3-person and 5-person level 70 quests, clearing 10-man instances in old-world content, and being able to pull over 15 equal level mobs at the same time, killing them all.

4. They are also one of the best farming classes. Because of their high DPS, the use of a pet, and having infinite mana; warlocks pretty much can kill mobs nonstop. This obviously makes farming very easy, as there is little to no downtime.

5. They have three different, but useful, specializations. With most classes, there are only one or two viable specs to DPS as. With warlocks, all three trees are useful in the different aspects of the game. Affliction is useful for steady damage over long periods of time, Destruction is useful for high amounts of burst damage, and Demonology is useful for having a pet or the warlock themselves tank.

6. They bring a decent amount of utility to groups and raids. Warlocks are usually sought for in both groups and raids because they can crowd control with fear and their pet’s seduction, they are the only class to have soul stones, and they can summon free health potions for everyone in their group. They can also summon anyone in the game as long as there are two other players to help. They also can cast debuffs on mobs which will help increase the other classes’ usefulness.

7. They bring a high amount of DPS to groups and raids. On my warlock, I almost always top the damage meter in my groups and on my raids. I have done so with different specs as well. I have topped the meter as both Affliction and Destruction. This means that if played well, warlocks can be a group or raid’s best asset.

8. Warlocks are above-average PvP’ers. Once you obtain a decent amount of PvP gear, warlocks are very fun to PvP with. They can easily kill caster DPS classes and healers. Their only disadvantage is against melees, since warlocks have terrible mitigation against melees and melees have counters to almost every warlock’s escape maneuvers. However, I can almost always be on the top of the killing blow list with just a few deaths at the end of any battleground.

9. They can also be useful tanks for certain encounters. There have been numerous situations where I have tanked certain events. With the Demonology spec, warlocks can have a 20% damage reduction and as many hit points as a normal tank. The combination of the two makes them favorites when tanking mobs that deal elemental damage, as their weak armor is not an issue. If you enjoy playing different aspects of WoW, this can be a nice bonus.

10. Lastly, they get unique mounts! Warlocks are one of only two classes that receive unique mounts. This means that you can proudly run around Ironforge and have all the low levels gawk at you for your neat fiery war-horse!

Alright, I’m bored atm, and have been reading a few threads where people think they have got it all figured when it comes to BG’s.

First lets cover the tactics for each battleground shall we:

Alterac Valley Theres many ways to go about this, but since 95% of all the players here just follow the flow, theres 2 more common then the rest:

Strategy One: The Rush

This is the best one for both parties, as 2.4 balanced the map considerably. For the best chances of succes, a group of 3-5 people need to move on the first 2 central bunkers (I know its towers for the allies, but I’m sticking with bunkers), but wasting time going to Galva/Balinda. Getting the bunkers on timer ASAP is prioity one. Ofc rogues/druids are also needed to pass balinda and get to the base bunkers, and put this on timer. Besides this, defending the timered bunkers is also of the utter most importance, as if you lose control of it, the time will have to be started all over again, making you fall behind the opposite team. Remember, to kill the Leaders, one must first take out the bunkers, or as many as possible, so you dont have to deal with marshals (horde term again, pardon me) and extra hp on him.

In short: Get the bunkers on timer as fast as possible

If you are interested in continuing with this guide you may do so here.

Warlocks in the world of Warcraft mainly deal in curses and summoning of Daemons. Warlocks use a different attack style from the other classes; they don’t go for the quick kills, but efficient ones. While warlocks have several different types of demons to summon, the mainly used class is the Warrior type, because it is an extremely good tank, and can take the damage while the warlock deals it out. Other daemons warlocks can summon are rouges and fire support (mini warlocks!). All the daemons warlocks can summon work differently, so choosing the right daemon for the right job is a must, Mostly when warlocks are going solo, they will use a tank based daemon, or a rouge based daemon with fear spells (for maximum damage).

Warlocks are often seen as a Hybrid of the Mage and the Hunter, as their skill sets sit somewhere in-between the two classes. Warlocks can summon Daemons, which is like the hunter pets, and they can cast spells, like the Mage can. However Warlocks can only summon predefined pets in WoW, unlike the hunter, who can tame almost any common animal in the game.

As your leveling in the world of Warcraft, you’ll find that your warlock doesn’t do a lot of damage upfront, you’ll find that the damage is dealt over time with a lot of their spells (commonly referred to as DoT’s – damage over time). Generally these spells will do damage like 50 damage over 10 seconds, or something similar. To get the most out of DoT’s without getting killed in the process, you usually have a Tank based daemon in front of you taking the damage from the mob you are killing, or you case fear spells on the mob so it runs away from you. You’ll also find while you’re waiting for the dot’s to finish off, it’s usually a good idea to case some debuffs (which make the mob weaker and easier to kill) and using the Shadowblot spell which is direct damage, to make the kills faster.

While leveling with a group of people, you’ll find the warlock will need to use different tactics to ensure usefulness, as a group kills your standard mobs a lot more quickly, the dot’s aren’t as effective. Usually an offensive pet (a rouge or caster pet) is a good idea, with Direct damage spells like shadowbolt. When you starting to kill elite mobs, is where a warlock really starts helping the group, with the debuffs and dot’s you can really hold your own in a group – and be a major damage dealer, and a party saver (tank pets are good when a group is in trouble – they allow you a little time to recover when your group is about to get killed). Some of the spells that really help with groups are the Curse of Tongues, which stop enemy casters from casting spells, and the Curse of Elements, which will enhance the damage from mage spells on mob’s.

While your playing your warlock, you’ll notice that you’ll need to stay some distance away from what you are killing, this is a blessing, as if something goes wrong, you can get a head start when running away, nobody likes getting killed!. Been a ranged class helps make Warlocks very versatile as well, meaning you can fit into almost any group combination, and still provide value and useful skills to the group.

A warlock can be leveled up to 70 with a group, or solo, both ways are usually quite quick, as if you can’t get a group you can go solo and still keep up a good XP rate, if you have abnormal playing hours, or can’t play regularly a warlock is a very good choice indeed.

The question keeps popping so yet another gear guide, maybe it’ll help someone. I stuck to stuff that’s easily quested or crafted, without entering heroics and through minimal instancing.

This is a guide, I’m not providing a dozen options for every slot but tried to stick to best-in-slot blues. There may be better options for some slots but follow this and your gear will be fine to start Karazhan.

Head: Stalker’s Helmet of Second Sight http://www.wowhead.com/?item=31106 from a quest chain that starts here http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10642. Ignore the socket bonus and fill up with agility gems, enchant with the Glyph of Ferocity (requires Revered with Cenarion Expedition)

Neck: Natasha’s Choker http://www.wowhead.com/?item=31695 from a quest chain in Blade’s Edge Mountains that starts here http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10810

Shoulders: No good quest option here so Beast Lord Mantle http://www.wowhead.com/?item=27801 from Warlord Kalithresh, the end boss in The Steamvault. Gem with agility/hit in the yellow slot and agility in the red slot if you want the stamina bonus. Pretty much the best blue shoulders from PvE, if you like PvP go for the Gladiator Spaulders http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28333. Make sure you put an Inscription on them from your Aldor or Scryer rep.

Back: Delicate Green Poncho http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28032 from the Bring Me The Egg! quest in Nagrand http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10111 for a nice item for little effort. The hit rating will be invaluable when raiding. Enchant with +12 agility (Greater Agility, materials are 1 Greater Planar Essence, 4 Arcane Dust and 1 Primal Air)

Continue to read this guide.

The question is often asked on this forum: Am i ready for karazhan? Answer: Only if you follow the below requirements.
Contents:
1: Advised Gear
2: Statistic Requirements

Here’s a list of what gear and statistics you need for starting karazhan as a main tank:
HELM:
Felsteel Helm. This is an excellent helm.http://www.wowdb.com/item.aspx?id=23519. I’d suggest socketing it with 2x Solid star of Elune and 1x Regal Tanzanite. Enchant: http://www.wowdb.com/item.aspx?id=29186
NECK:
There’s a variety of options. My favourite is the Mark of the Ravenguard from the Sethekk Halls quest. It gives great stamina and some defence. http://www.wowdb.com/item.aspx?id=29336
Another great one is from cenarion expedition reputation, http://www.wowdb.com/item.aspx?id=29173.
SHOULDERS:
The best here, by far, are Spaulders of the Righteous, http://www.wowdb.com/item.aspx?id=27739
get whatever tanking inscription you can from either Aldor or Scryer rep. Socket with Regal Tanzanite and Solid star of elune.

Fact is that the BG chat is often not used efficiently. Many posts are related to discriminating inexperienced players which do not fulfil the expectation of so called “pro-gamers”. Many people show significant energy to contribute to the BG chat, however, there seems to be a general lack as to how to facilitate the BG chat to leverage gaming experience and to maximise honour outcome. The following guidelines can be used to overcome this issue:

(1) Respect your team mates.
(2) Give constructive instead of destructive feedback.
(3) Make pro-active suggestions instead of retrospective complaints.
(4) Use macros for the most important tactical commandos. This maximises the time you can actively participate in the main objectives of the game.
(5) Respond to your team-mates’ posts. By doing so, you are not only acknowledging the player, but you also raise the awareness of the rest of the players towards the bespoken issue.
(6) Request backups early. If a major confrontation is foreseeable, ask your team mates for help. Putting points (1) to (6) to practise can significantly improve the performance of individual players and increase the chances to win as a team. The overall outcome is both, a more satisfactory game-play as well as a more efficient honour generation for each player.

Any feedback / critique is welcome.

Here’s a list with zones and level recommendations for Alliance and Horde players that I wrote for someone and thought I’d add it here aswell. (Adding the Horde zones at this time, although, the zones are pretty much the same for both factions..) If you would happen to find anything in this list that you’d like to change / add, please don’t be afraid of leaving a comment and I’ll see what I can do.Also note that this isn’t the level requirements. This is just the levels that I prefer to have reached before visiting the various zones.

Hint: For fastest leveling I suggest you take all the quests you see and then do most of them all at once. And to make it go even faster, I suggest you to download these three addons.

-Lightheaded (This will allow you to read the comments available for the selected quest at http://wowhead.com/ . You will be able to find the coords for whatever you need to do and if necessary, they might tell you how to complete it aswell. Click on the blue marked Coords in the comment to activate an arrow on your screen that will point you in the right direction.)

-Cartographer (This is a worldmap with more customisable options, like coords for example.)

-Bayi’s Extended Quest Log (This will make the quest window larger and make it possible for you to see pretty much all quests at once. So you don’t have to scroll up and down. It will also allow you to drag the quest tracker around on the screen, placing it wherever you want to.)

You can find all of those here:
http://files.wowace.com/
Except for Lightheaded that is available here: http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info7017-LightHeaded.html

(Note that the Bayi’s Extended Quest Log is called ‘beql’ here!)

How to install addons:
To install an addon, simply download the chosen addon you want. Extract the files to a folder on your desktop. Open your WoW Folder -> Interface -> AddOns. This is the map where your addons should be. If you can’t find the Interface or AddOn folder, you simply create one and put the addon in it. Now start up WoW and log in. At the character screen you will see a button in the lower left corner called “AddOns”. Click there and check if your addon is in the list. If there’s a text next to the addon saying “Out of date”, check the box in the upper right corner that says “Load out of date AddOns”.

Hi all.
This is my guide to all the Shattered Sun dailys. Suggestions and corrections very welcome. Also I?m not going to cover the non-daily quests just yet but if anybody else wants to write that bit then please do!

HELPFUL INFO
There are two types of Shattered Sun dailys, those in outland and those on ?the Isle of Quel’Danas? in Azeroth. Most outland quests give Shattered Sun Supplies and just over 10g as a reward. The supplies always contain a random green item and sometimes (I estimate 1/10) also contain a badge of justice.

The island quests give differing rewards, some Aldor/Scryer rep items, some just gold. The ley-lines quests gives a scroll that transports you back to Shattrath. In order to get to the island, you can either talk to the flight master in Ironforge or Silvermoon city or, if your realm has it kept open, there is sometimes a portal to the island in the centre of Shattrath directly below the badges of justice vendor.

OUTLAND Shattered Sun dailys
(In the order I normally do them)

Gaining the Advantage
http://thottbot.com/q11875
Obtained from Emissary Mordin just up from the Alliance Warmasters in Shatt.
An easy quest if you have mining, herbalism or skinning. Basically using these skills you have a chance to get Nether Residue with your ore/herb/leather/whatever. I normally just take the quest and collect the residue as I do my normal herbing. I end up handing in every 2-3 days.

So here I am at level 70, back in the land where your mom is that easy and Chuck Norris is that cool: The Barrens. I’m not here to save the Crossroads from ganking Allies and I’m not here to run noobs through Wailing Caverns (so stop asking). I’m here to fish.

Fishing is the one secondary skill I didn’t work on because, well, it’s boring. But now that you can make tons of cash with the new Fishing Dailies, I’m leveling up fish-catching skills. The problem is that once you get to 225, and finish that annoying quest with Nat Pagle, fishing gets even more boring than it was before. No matter where you fish, each skillup is farther apart and you have to hang out in places that are far below your level if you don’t want to miss a lot.

The first thing I did was search WoW Insider, because that usually does the trick and I found a great guide to Fishing and Cooking, but the advice for leveling to 300 says “may god have mercy on your soul because Blizzard won’t.” Not a good sign. I also found a link to El’s Extreme Anglin’ which is a fantastic fishing site, but I couldn’t find any advice for making the trip from 225 any less painful. So I asked The Spousal Unit who has won the Fishing Extravaganza more than once and after some experimentation on my own, I’m well on my way past 265 and making a lot of cash at the same time.
